Wheel Try-It Session Ages 10+
Saturday, April 27th 9:30-11:00 1m
Working on the wheel is an fun and "messy" experience. You will be introduced to the basics of working on the Potter's Wheel. We will cover centering, throwing cylinders, and bringing up walls. This is a great session for anyone who has expressed an interest in giving the wheel a try. Any pieces that survive the firing process will be glazed in your choice of colors.
Price includes materials, instructions, and firings.
First-time wheel throwers experience high loss rates due to air bubbles. Dress to get muddy, we provide full-length aprons. Make sure to wear shoes that can get dirty; no heels or open-toed shoes. Pieces will undergo a lengthy drying process to improve overall outcomes. We will call you when your pieces are ready for pick-up. We have a 90 day pick-up policy after which the pieces are used at the discretion of the studio.
In case of inclement weather check our Facebook page.
Fused Glass Shadow Box
Saturday, May 4th 3:00-4:30 pm
8 x 8 inch Shadow Box Frame
Join us in the Studio for our first Shadow Box Fused Glass event. We will be working with a 6 x 6 inch piece of glass and using glass cutters to create outline pieces similar to our butterfly sample. Recreate the butterfly, or come with your own simple line drawing measuring 6 x 6 inches to use as a guide for your own creation.
We will fire your creation and mount it into your shadow box frame.
This event is limited to 8 registrants.
